Harassment

École Van Walleghem School affirms its commitment to maintain a learning and working environment that is free from harassment. Complaint procedures are outlined in the Divisional Harassment Policy, which is available at the school office. This policy is actively reviewed with staff and students.

Our school division policy states, in part, that:
“It is the responsibility of all members of the school community (employees, students, volunteers, parents and trustees) to build an environment of trust and mutual respect while at the same time to protect the rights of each individual.

We all must work towards an understanding that harassment undermines the dignity and mutual respect of individuals in the system, threatens personal well-being, and performance, and will not be tolerated”

We continue to work to increase the understanding of behaviours that constitute harassment within our school community, seek to identify incidents, and, where necessary, refer the matter beyond the school for remediation.
